Description
This vintage mid-century hanging planter or bowl is a product of the Brush Pottery Company. The pottery was originally called the Brush – McCoy Pottery Company but in 1925 the McCoy name was dropped and the new name became Brush Pottery Company.
The company operated until 1982 when it officially closed.
Measuring approximately 8 ½” in diameter by 3 ½” in height this pottery piece features a pretty green splatter glaze with a thumbprint incised rim and incised circular lines surrounding the body.
Along the rim are three holes through which a cord or chain could be inserted for hanging purposes.
This piece serves a dual purpose in that it could also be used as a tabletop bowl because of the footed base.
Marked on the base is the incised mark, “Brush 167-8 USA".
Despite very faint interior discoloration this pottery piece is in very good condition with no chips, cracks, crazing or any evidence of damage or flaws.
