This series of postcards is based on the work "Tribes of Israel", consisting of 12 plates, 50X50cm each, depicting each tribe with their flags, gem stones, Hebrew month, Zodiac signs and other attributes.

The postcards are a part of a small series of postcards with artwork by contemporary Israeli artists covering traditional Jewish subjects.
This work is built upon five aspects:

Flag:
According to Torah (Old Testament), each of Israeli tribes had their own flag and symbol, derived to the Jacob blessing to his sons.
Gem Stones:
The high priest in the Jewish Temple had a Hoshen, a mysterious device he wore for predicting future and answering questions of high importance, with the names of Israel's sons engraved upon gem stones. This gave names to most of the gem stones we know today. For instance, the first son of Israel, Reuven, had a red stone called Ruby, etc. This is where the whole birth stones theory comes from.
Month/Zodiac/Horoscope:
Each tribe had a specific location in the Israeli Camp during their 40-year long journey in Sinai Desert. Surrounding Tabernacle, twelve camps were oriented in four directions, and Jewish astronomy substituted twelve tribes for twelve months of the Hebrew calendar. This is also the basis for the Jewish Horoscope.

We don't want any headache checking how much a stamp will cost. For .5 a regular letter may be shipped anywhere in the world, and that's our price. However, if you think you want some fancy lightning-fast shipping option don't hesitate to ask.
Combined shipping!
We offer reduction if you buy several postcards at once. For each additional card you will get - discount on shipping. Check our other auctions for more postcards. However, if the weight of the package will exceed 100g we will have to add additional stamp, so the shipping reduction will be less (but there will still be a reduction). There will be no reductions if you want each postcard stamped and sent independently.
