Vintage white-bordered color art postcard with a view of a thatched cottage
hidden amid rocks and trees, with a smiling older woman at its doorstep.
A verse by Eva Brennan reads:
"An Old Irish Cottage
in dreams I can see,
Where Somebody waits
at the doorway for me."
Card published in the CARBO COLOUR series by Valentine & Sons, Ltd; printed in Scotland.
Split back; used, posted 1938 to the Bronx, New York, from Dublin (Baile Átha Cliath).
Inked note reads,
"July 28.1938.
Greetings from the Emerald Isle.
Bessie."
Good condition with edge wear, age, use but a sheen of crazing. See photos.
