Today we are pleased to offer for sale a rare Burton Mfg. Co adjustable dental light.
Burton Medical Products, originally known as Burton Manufacturing Company, was founded in 1928 in Chicago, Illinois by J.A. Korengold and named after his nephew, Burton Korengold. With its merger with Jan-Dor and TransElectronics, the next 65 years Burton Manufacturing Company's product line ranged from medical/dental lighting to power supply and support defense equipment.
This piece dates to the 1930's/1940's and is finely crafted and detailed. The adjustable telescoping light was intended for use in a dentist's office and is made of solid and heavy metal with faux-wood painted finish; the smaller handle is crafted of solid wood. The light features chromed accents and its original wiring. It can be adjusted sideways and front to back, and can be extended over 15" from the stem. Marked on the mounting plate with the maker's label.
Light presents well and is in good antique condition, with wear, scuffing and patina commensurate with age. There is minor loss to faux-wood painted finish, and minor oxidation to chromed elements. The fixture needs rewiring and is sold untested. Please review all photos before purchasing.
