Constructed of 100% White American or French Oak, this planter is the perfect option for larger, self-contained planting jobs such as flowers, herbs and vegetables. Each barrel is recycled from previously used whiskey or wine barrels and contains no stains, treatments, additives or preservatives. Our Half Oak Barrel is completely safe for vegetable and herb planting and can provide a sound state of mind for any gardener looking to grow chemical-free food. Our Half Oak Barrel is constructed with heavy-duty oak staves, held in place with reinforced T-nailed hoops. Barrel garden cradles are included with each planter to prevent rocking and other movement. The Half Oak Barrels are manufactured in centrally located cooperages originally and cut post drainage at one of four of our US-based cutting facilities. These barrels can easily boast that they are "Made in the USA!" Although our planter is made of 100% natural, non-treated oak, painting and staining are not only acceptable options for this planter, but preferred by many consumers.
